LaCie has a new home version of the Ethernet Disk mini NAS drive that will be released sometime in October, retailing for approximately $200. This NAS drive comes with 500GB of storage space and boasts Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity, enabling users the ability to offer remote access to others for files stored within. Needless to say, you can also use the Ethernet Disk mini to back up and synchronize your home computer automatically in case a data disaster strikes. Heck, it can also allow one stream of multimedia files through DLNA-compatible UPnP media players and doubles up an iTunes music server. Sounds impressive without a hefty price tag.
