Medion ships laptop with virus

As the French would say, “C’est bizarre!”. German PC vendor Medion have apparently shipped laptops that come with an ancient 13-year old virus known as Stoned Angelina through Aldi retail stores. This virus hides itself in the DOS boot sector of floppy disks and in the master boot record on hard disks. It remains to be seen whether the infected PCs were sold to Denmark only since no news concerning this major oversight were reported in other international sites. For this mistake, Medion has instructed customers to “clean up their systems by reinstalling the operating system from the recovery CD included with the system.” What’s even more ironic is the fact that with both Windows Vista and Bullguard’s anti virus pre-loaded, they failed to detect the virus.
