Store your DNA on a stick

Ever wonder how would reading your own DNA look like? 23andMe, a new biotechnology company funded via Esther Dyson, will offer you that chance by scanning 23 ‘paired volumes’ that is said to be enough information when it comes to revealing facts about your ancestry and inherited (irritating) traits among others. You’ll then be able to carry your own genetic blueprint on a single thumb drive. It is hoped that such service will be able to make room for ‘personalized medicine’ sometime down the road for the best recovery method possible, taking our biological makeup into consideration before medication or other genetic instruments are administered. To put it in a nutshell, “Targeting the right drug to the right person at the correct dose”.
