It’s official, Palm has just introduced the Treo 500v in Europe. It’s 3G phone that’s unfortunately a little larger and heavier than the Samsung Blackjack (review). The Treo 500v offers a cute design (I really like it) and Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition, but is fundamentally not very different from other Windows Mobile phones.
If the Treo 500v was smaller and thinner, it would be a really sexy smartphone, but it’s not. I also regret that the space occupied by the Call/Hang-up/Home/Back/Menu buttons is so big. Microsoft is to blame for requiring hardware buttons and Palm for designing such needlessly large ones.
