Vertu rolls out new Ferrari phone

In conjunction of Ferrari’s 60th birthday, Nokia’s Vertu luxury unit will unleash a new designer phone that retails for a cool $25,000. This ridiculously expensive handset will be known as the Ferrari Ascent 60 and is currently on sale at Vertu’s flagship stores in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Paris. What you get in return for all that truckload of money is tri-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth support, a 20mm handsfree loudspeaker, USB synchronization, text message support, and a 1,000 name address book. Sounds pretty entry-level by all means, but you go benefit from custom Ferrari ringtones and a screensaver featuring Ferrari graphics. The sapphire crystal display and precision-engineered steel keys on jeweled bearings add to the final price, and the same goes for its hand-polished titanium case, hand-stitched Ferrari leather on the back, and a battery plate that in reality is a 1:100 replica of a Ferrari manual shift grid.
