Sony isn’t confirming it (by fear of stalling sales, I guess), but it seems that gamers have printed the UPC code of the new $399 40GB PlayStation 3 and scanned it at a Target store. Indeed, the new console is in the system according to GamingBits. Obviously, this model exists in Europe and Japan and Sony is widely expected to announce it in the USA as well. The question is “when”? It might be cheap, but don’t forget the backwards compatibility issues.
