40GB PS3 more or less confirmed

While Sony has not confirmed nor denied the existence of a 40GB PS3, there is an image of such a console in existence as it was advertised in a French gaming catalogue. Unfortunately, further intrigue is in order as the person who captured this photo obviously had a lousy cameraphone or his/her hands were just too shaky to be able to snap a steady shot. Hence, we aren’t able to make out the technical details of this upcoming PS3 even with the best Photoshop filters and sharpening tools applied. What’s interesting is the 449 Euro price point that translates to approximately £315 – a vast improvement over the current £425 retail price. Hopefully it will come with an HDMI cable and an extra controller lest users be given a gimped option.
