The new MBox 2 Micro from Avid targets audio enthusiasts as it allows you to carry an entire mixing studio in your pocket – all you need to do is plug it into any available USB flash drive and you’re good to go. It comes pre-loaded with ProTools LE recording system as well as a slew of Digidesign plug-ins, featuring 48KHz, 24-bit processing and analog output via a headphone jack with volume control. There is no word on whether the Avid Mbox 2 Micro comes with any sort of storage capacity (other than the pre-loaded software) – it would be nice if it did as you won’t have to carry around too many USB flash drives then.
