Hitachi looks toward steering wheels

No, the company isn’t planning to integrate some audio system into your car’s steering wheels, instead it hopes to incorporate its own finger vein authentication system that has already made its way to computers and ATMs. This system works on the principle where every finger has a unique vein configuration that can be read by near-Infrared light along with image sensors. This helps keep your car secure, and allows you to customize the various vehicle settings such as air conditioning, chair position and radio station presets simply by referring to the profile based on your veins. Guess the whole vehicle will need to be electronically advanced in order to remember those different driver profiles, so the majority of vehicles with manually-operated seats and air conditioning systems won’t be able to benefit from this.
