KDDI of Japan has just announced that Opera Widgets will be available on the Toshiba W56T, Sony Ericsson W54S and Sanyo W54SA this December. The widget has been dubbed “au one Gadget” by KDDI and aims to provide instant access to various services including RSS feeds, sports results, weather, stocks, news, social networking services and traffic information. This makes it a first where Opera Widgets on cellphones are concerned. Users will be able to download more than a single Gadget onto their device. Guess the Japanese have it much better than the rest of the world – at least in terms of cellphones and consumer electronics.
