
Samsung SDI has announced today that they expect to be the first company to develop a wVGA (800×480 pixels) OLED display aimed at mobile devices. That is far superior to today’s 320×240 OLED screens. OLED has many very desirable properties: manufacturers can build thinner, power-efficient displays with a better image quality. The only downside is how difficult the manufacturing process is.
Higher resolutions and better battery life can transform how mobile devices are used by making web application usable and improving productivity tasks such as email and document editing. More OLED stories
