Thomson Gives Up

…Making media players. Thomson will sell its international audio-video activities to AudioVox and shut down the European ones. You might have seen DVD and MP3 players sold under the RCA brand.

Quite frankly, their products are fairly bad and low-tech (low-margins too). As consumer become more savvy and with increased competition, there was no way that the brand could sustain it activities for long. We hope that Thomson’s employees will  find work in other business units.
