Word on the street has it that China’s e28 will be manufacturing handsets that run on Google’s Android platform. No idea on how true this is, but e28 being a leading provider of mobile Linux convergence technology makes it a prime candidate to fill up such a role. There is more reason why you should root for e28 being the Linux software provider and gPhone manufacturer, since this would probably mean using a cheap VoIP system on cellular networks as well as WiFi with the added advantage of seamlessly integrating data across diverse technology platforms. Not only that, being an open platform, it will enable just about any programmer to develop add-on applications.
