Fusion-io launches ioDrive Fusion-io has launched the ioDrive, capable of delivering 100,000 IOPS (input/output per second) per card, while achieving sustained data rates of 800Mb/sec (Read) and 600Mb/sec (Write). On the paper it looks awesome: 1000x on IO performance, 100x response time, 10x data served. But that’s theory and we would love to see independant benchmarks”. Fusion-io’s ioDrive will begin shipping sometime in this quarter, and interested parties will be able to benefit from 40GB, 80GB, 160GB and 320GB variaints. The ioDrive is tipped to be adopted for use in web services, financial services, data warehousing, graphic workstations, science and engineering and data appliances.
