hiREC, theoretically, ought to be the perfect tool in any kitchen. It is smart enough to read out sell-by dates (for the busy chef, no doubt about it), nutritional information, food intolerances, and recipes. All you need to do is place any food on the hiREC and it will display the corresponding information on the touchscreen interface. Heck, it doesn’t only work in the kitchen but at the pharmacy as well since it is compatible with the many variations of medicine. Unfortunately, this Andrea Vecera-designed concept doesn’t look too likely to take off in a manufacturing line anywhere anytime soon.
