Planar has a new Stereoscopic Digital Mammography Display that has been successfully tested to yield some pretty impressive results – it is capable of reducing false-positive breast cancer findings by up to 49%. Now that’s a really large number, and the ultimate outcome can be nothing but positive for the patient (in a good way, of course) since a false-positive induces nothing but a whole lot of stress, mental anguish as well as unnecessary worry in the patient. This new Mammography Display uses StereoMirror technology in order to improve accuracy in breast cancer screening. There are currently 17″ and 20″ versions available, although Planar will be releasing the Planar SD2420W and SD2620W which come in larger widescreen StereoMirror formats. [Press Release]
