Looks like Apple will be releasing its 13″ ultra-portable MacBook at the Macworld Expo and Conference 2008 after all, and while it shaves just 2″ off the current 15″ MacBook Pro in terms of screen size, it will be roughly 50% lighter as well as much slimmer. Other than the standard minimalist nature of its design, this new 13″ MacBook will do without the traditional optional disc drive, so you’ll have to pack in a portable one if you tend to transfer plenty of media from a CD or DVD over to your MacBook. Other features include the adoption of new 13″ LCD panels that boast LED backlights and integrated NAND flash drives. Good time to pick up some Apple stock ahead of the new MacBook announcement, perhaps?
