NokiaSiemensNetworks has announced that during a 4G network test in Berlin, their infrastructure was able to consistently stay above 100Mbps (over several hundred meters), in an urban environment that is deemed “not ideal” for optimum performance. According to the company, the tests prove their 4G technology is good enough to be used outside of the lab.
The 4G Long-Term-Evolution (LTE) is expected to be used by several large wireless carriers within the next few years. [press release]
