Apple aims for new patent

Apple has plans to change the way games are played on mobile devices by filing a patent application for a multi-touch gaming interface, enabling both the iPhone and iPod Touch to run games with the ability to control a secondary application at the same time. This patent application is known as “Techniques for interactive input to portable electronic devices”, allowing the user to input touch-based commands on virtually any touch-bsaed device. It would be interesting to see what kinds of games come out on the iPhone with such an application, where users won’t be able to lose the rest of the iPhone/iPod Touch’s functionality while zapping aliens into oblivion.
