Envision has just launched its E218c1 widescreen monitor, bringing 22″ of LCD goodness to your desktop. Features include embedded speakers, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and an internal microphone with echo cancellation. Sounds as though the normal home user could do with these, but it is more suited for businesses that require a low-cost conferencing option. On-screen performance is pretty satisfactory with a 5ms response time and a contrast ratio of 700:1. The E218c1 boasts a maximum resolution of 1,680 x 1,050 pixels that does well to display HD video sources up to 720p/1080i via a DVI-D port. A standard VGA D-sub connector and a trio of USB ports round off the list of features. The Envision E218c1 retails for $330.
