iPhone and iPod Touch have PSX emulator

Update 12/24: psx4iphone 0.1 has been released

The iPhone and iPod Touch are pretty similar in many ways, so, if the emulator does indeed works, it makes sense that this PSX emulator runs on both just fine. Developer “zodttd” has dubbed his software PSX4iPhone, and claims that up to three quarters of the original games function just fine on the emulator. Memory card support is included, although you would do well to take note that there is still some way to go where saved states are concerned before it is stable enough for everyday gaming.

Now the question is: what about gaming performance? It took a beefy PC to emulate a PSX, and the iPhone doesn’t seem very muscular in comparison…
