Matsushita recycles CRTs for its Viera Matsushita takes a green step by taking plastic used in the chassis of its CRT-based TV sets and recycling it for manufacturing parts of its flat screen TV line known as Viera. This scheme will be implemented in new models that roll out in Japan next year. Matsushita isn’t the only company to take up this initiative as Sony has decided to do the same for its Bravia line of LCD TVs as well that will be released next spring. Sounds like a pretty good plan to me, as more and more people start to move towards flat panel displays and discard their old TVs, it makes perfect sense to recycle what we can with whatever we have for the next generation.
