Microtek ships ArtixScan M1

Microtek has started to ship its ArtixScan M1 flatbed and film scanner, while introducing the ArtixScan M1 Pro scanner that comes with a slew of new features. Both scanners feature Microtek’s very own Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology (E.D.I.T.) – a glassless scanning technology for scanning film that is not unlike the design of dedicated film scanners. The ArtixScan M1 will feature 4,800 dpi optical resolution, 16-bits per channel, 4.4 maximum optical density, multi-sampling noise reduction, and auto-focus technology,. As for the higher end ArtixScan M1 Pro, it basically shares the same scanner with the Microtek ArtixScan M1 albeit ringing in additional features to provide greater productivity when scanning film thanks to two sets of Microtek SnapTrans film holders. The Microtek ArtixScan M1 and ArtixScan M1 Pro will retail for $649.99 and $799.99 respectively.
