Quickbooks for Mac update deletes huge amount of data

If you are using Quickbook for mac, you should take a quick look at the recent issue experienced by many users: they have lost Gigabytes worth of data following (what looks like) a Quickbooks update that destroyed the data on the Desktop (the trash bin seems intact, strangely).

In the meantime, users have tried workarounds like locking the desktop or turning off Quickbooks’ update system.

Take a look in Quickbooks forum. TUAW also has a good post about this, with the workarounds. Finally, *backup your data* on a regular basis. It really stinks to lose financial stuff.
