Guess Gateway is taking the moderate path by releasing new desktops which come with a Hyper SuperMulti drive which is capable of both HD DVD and Blu-ray playback. Of course, we all know that HD DVD suffered a mortal wound back at CES ’08 earlier this month but who knows how Toshiba might turn things around (fire sales notwithstanding
). Other than that bit of news, the rest of the system specifications include AMD’s Phenom quad-core processors, 3GB RAM, and a slew of other doodads. The Hyper SuperMulti drive will only be available in the GM5664 though, while the GT5662 makes do with a mere 18× DVD±RW DVD burner. The GM5664 and GT5662 retail from $1,149.99 and $749.99 upwards, respectively.
