Google And LEGO Go Way Back

I’m sure many of us have already noticed Google’s tribute to LEGO’s 50th anniversary in the block building business (may Tetris hit the big 50 as well), and there’s more to it than just a fancy logo. Apparently, Google co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, once used LEGO bricks as an external low-cost and expandable casing for ten 4GB hard drives while developing Google’s search engine. That’s a long time ago – up to 10 years of rolling the clock back. The original LEGO server casing is still around and is currently on display as part of an exhibition chronicling 80 years of computing machines at Stanford University in California.
