NEC has released its D02NE HSDPA PCMCIA CardBus II card which allows folks who still work with PCMCIA card slots on their laptops to surf the Internet at 7.2Mbps speeds (theoretically) on UMTS networks that have already been outfitted with 7.2Mbps HSDPA protocols. This will be a Windows-only product, measuring 54mm × 8mm x 115 mm and tipping the scales at 50g. If you haven’t yet moved onto the ExpressCard bandwagon and want to keep up with the Joneses where surfing speed is concerned, this NEC offering certainly looks up to scratch.
