[CES 2008] Sony’s DCR-SR45 camcorder is the cheapest among the lot of DCR SR Handycams that was released – and it is no surprise that it has the smallest hard drive as well at 30GB. 30GB of storage space translates into approximately 20 hours of recording, so if you don’t mind that rather limited amount of recording time, then the DCR-SR45 sounds like a good deal. It will ship in February for half a grand. Other specifcations and features are listed as follows :-
- 680k-pixel CCD imager
- Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 40x optical zoom lens
- Sony HDD Smart Protection System
- Hybrid movie recording on Memory Stick PRO Duo media card and hard drive
- Quick-on feature comes out of standby in <1 second
- Built-in zoom microphone
