Google is doing something for the homeless community of San Francisco by offering free voicemail – every single homeless person in the city will receive a life-long phone number and voicemail if they decide to take up Google’s offer. This is meant for homeless individuals to get back on their feet by distributing numbers to shelters and job agencies which could help them secure a job as they will then be contactable. I guess this is way more economical compared to providing folk with a laptop and a free GMail account. The program is more than ready to roll out – good on you, Google!
