The Meizu M8 looks pretty close to the iPhone in terms of aesthetics, but amazingly enough it has already received a design patent from the Chinese patent office. The patent itself was filed last February, with the patent office publishing the application just recently. No idea on whether this patent application will be approved though with the iPhone’s impending arrival in China. I find it interesting that during the recent CES, some folks at the International Booths were sharing their thoughts on how they should be patenting their China-made stuff to prevent them from being cloned – how ironic!
