
Samsung Electronics will be releasing a new mobile processor that has a clock speed of 667MHz, featuring hardware acceleration for 3D graphics and video. Codenamed “S3C6410″, this mobile processor is manufactured using a 65-nanometer process and will be used in smartphones and navigation devices. Volume shipments are expected to begin sometime in Q3 this year. Cell phones will take over standalone GPS devices in the future thanks to advancements in chip technology. Larger displays is the one feature that cellphones are not likely to have.
