
Parvus has introduced a rugged tactical mission computer that is powered by Windows XP Embedded, coming in a size that will definitely surprise many people – 3″ x 4.3″ x 7″. Dubbed the DuraCOR 820 Small Tactical Mission Computer, it was specially designed to cater for space/weight-constrained military/aerospace deployments. It has Intel’s conductively cooled Pentium M738 1.4GHz processor complete with 2MB of second-level cache, 1GB of memory and 2GB of flash memory. Connectivity options include a pair of Fast Ethernet ports, three USB 2.0 ports, two serial powers and other I/O. Being dust, water and moisture resistant, this tough cookie retails for a whopping $10,000.
