
Given the HD-DVD debacle, it’s not surprising that Samsung will reduce its support for HD-DVD in the near future, even though the company was somewhat biased towards Blu-Ray.
While scaling back HD-DVD might sound like a lot of work, it actually isn’t. Samsung has been building dual-format drives for some time, and removing the HD-DVD optical components is extremely easy. Of course, the good news is that mono-format drive prices will go down faster.
