Sony Ericsson HSPA ExpressCards

Sony Ericsson has rolled out its maiden HSPA 7.2/2.0 devices in the form of the EC400 and EC400g, whereby both come in the ExpressCard/34 form factor. They theoretically offer 7.2Mbps and 2.0Mbps download and upload speeds, respectively, although real-world usage would be much lower than speculated. Interestingly enough, the EC400g will come with an integrated GPS receiver that is smart enough to display the user’s current location on Google Maps. Both of these cards are HSPA/UMTS, tri-band 850/1900/2100 MHz, EDGE/GPRS, quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz ExpressCards which will see action on a global scale by the middle of this year.
