STMicroelectronics has announced its TS4601 stereo headset amplifier that was specially optimized for feature-phone applications, claiming to bring a slew of improvements where audio performance is concerned. Needless to say, the TS4601 touts an improvement in battery life – always a good thing for mobile gadgets IMHO. It features a power-supply rejection ratio of –107dB (typical) that prevents noise from the handset battery from reaching the audio output, resulting in an overall audio quality that is not too far away from a dedicated HiFi system – or at least that’s what STMicroelectronics claim. What are some of the other gadgets that you think could make do with an audio processor?
