Zumobi’s “zooming” user interface and mobile widget platform for Windows Mobile handsets has just made the journey away from beta, where Version 1.0 comes with a slew of performance improvements, including better image rendering, quicker updating of content, and a smaller installation file. Zumobi aims for their software to be a viable alternative to traditional Web browsers for cell phones, where a grid of 16 thumbnails are available for the user to navigate simply by zooming into a quadrant and then again into a “tile”. These tiles are fully customizable, where you will be able to grab content from Zumobi partners like AccuWeather.com, Amazon.com, The Associated Press, Flickr, MTV, and others. Since content is continuously updated over the air, I would advise folks to be on an unlimited data plan in the first place.
