Word on the street has it that the upcoming Archos 606 will come with 3G connectivity, and will most probably share the same dimensions as the Archos 605 despite having a larger screen (1cm to 2cm more) and an all-black casing. Rumors are also circulating that the 606 will carry a 30GB hard drive, although all of the mentioned have yet to be confirmed. There isn’t even a spy image to drool over, for Pete’s sake. Whispers are going around that France’s SFR will offer three monthly subscription plans at €14.90, €19.90, and €29.90, where those plans will allow you to purchase the Archos 606 for €249, €199, and €149 respectively. A standalone player will probably reside in the region of €290 minus any plan. Will this be an iPod killer? You decide.
