AU Optronics 24-inch LCD Monitor

AU Optronics claim that it is first off the blocks to release a true wide-aspect ratio, full HD 24-inch flat-panel LCD display in the world. Capable of displaying 16:9 ratio at a native 1080p resolution, this LCD monitor is more suited for PCs which are geared towards home entertainment than work, since it won’t be able to achieve the 1920 x 1200 resolution found on existing 24″ computer monitors. This new AU Optronics offering has half the thickness of taller displays, measuring just 0.55″, making it even easier to place in your home. Mass production will begin this spring, with products to ship shortly afterwards. There are plans for a similar aspect ratio in other monitor sizes ranging from 15″ to 18.5″, 21.5″ and 32″.
