BenQ has released a couple of DLP projectors for the masses – the SP870 and SP831 that will reside comfortably in the 4,000-plus ANSI lumen category. Those two won’t be alone for long though as BenQ has more models planned for this year. The BenQ SP870 (5000 ANSI lumen) and SP831 (4000 ANSI lumen) will come with a fair bit of enhancements which will optimize lamp output for exceptional color, clarity and brilliance despite being in a brightly lit environment. They’re not meant for use at home, but are more suitable at lecture halls, auditoriums, board rooms and museums instead. With a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, viewing fine details like text, data, spreadsheets and charts in razor-sharp clarity and precise color would be a snap.
