The C-Bot is definitely creepy, as it uses a gecko’s innovative foot design as a template to climb walls without any artificial adhesion. It features a molecular adhesion that simulates a gecko’s foot (which is actually hairy, being fine enough to be seen on a micro level), working together with the C-Bot’s array of ultrasonic sensors. Will this make scaffolding obsolete in the long run? Well, the answer depends on what you plan for the C-Bot to do. I guess it would be better suited for cleaning windows of high rise buildings, but hopefully it won’t malfunction halfway through and end up as a deadly projectile to unwary pedestrians down below.
