The bane of bustling cities would be the lack of parking, especially in the downtown area where any spot will make do, never mind a fine from the local council. The City Car concept from folks at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology comes in the form of an electric pod, allowing it to park all by itself at the press of a button. Of course, special parking zones will be allocated by the city council, and the City Car will automatically (and happily) align itself with other City Cars, folding up to an eighth of its original size, enabling it to stack up like a line of shopping trolleys. Sounds like a pretty cool idea, but will the public who use this actually take good care of the interior? After all, most people abuse what they don’t own normally.
