Phone Defibrillator Patent

Talk about a cell phone that can start/stop your heart – not because of its price nor its looks, but just because it comes with a defibrillator built in. Well, that’s what the patent says anyway, so we’re not sure whether it will actually roll off the manufacturing lines or not. Portable defibrillators sound like a good idea considering 400,000 Americans pass away each year due to Sudden Cardiac Death, and hopefully this handset is equipped with some sort of safety mechanism in order to avoid unexpected ear shocks.
