Sanyo has claimed to have released the smallest and lightest LCD projector in the world with the LP-XW60. It tips the scales at a mere 3.5 pounds, featuring a contrast ratio of 400:1, a 2,000-lumen brightness, a 4:3 aspect ratio and 1,024 x 768 resolution. Those specifications won’t survive in the home of a movie buff, but it will do just fine in the business environment. Its miniaturization was made possible thanks to a new lamp that is 39% smaller and a new lens which is 29% smaller compared to the outgoing one. A 100″ image is possible when the LP-XW60 is placed less than nine feet away from the screen. It will be available in Japan from April 21 onwards.
