Teachermate PCs Going Cheap

You can’t get any cheaper than these $50 entry-level Teachermate PCs. Some of the features include :-

• 2.5″ LCD display (now that’s really small)
• 512MB RAM
• SD memory card slot
• Integrated microphone and speakers

The Teachermate will see action in half a thousand Chicago elementary schools over the next two years, whereby the ultimate aim would be to equip every child with one of these. 2.5″ of viewing real estate? Something tells me that kids using this in the long run will most probably end up with sore eyes and perhaps even a squint.
