Lenovo has finally gone about releasing its IdeaPad U110 in the US, featuring a textured metal shell that encases one of the most compact systems from Lenovo to date at 11″, tipping the scales at a mere 2.5 pounds while measuring less than 0.9″ in thickness. This is the second computer to utilize a similar processor as the MacBook Air, that is a low-voltage 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo with 800MHz bus and 4MB of L2 cache. It takes advantage of its additional thickness (compared to the MacBook Air) by holding a DVD burner and a 120GB hard drive. The base system will retail for $1,900, and the price can go nowhere but upwards from there (just like gas prices).
