Acer’s recently released Gemstones won’t remain new for too long as word on the street has it Acer will be rolling out a couple of new Acer notebooks as well, with the Aspire and Slim Gemstone Aspire systems ready to make you think about parting with your hard-earned money. Measuring 8.9″ and 12.1″ respectively, they will target the entry-level market and be powered by Intel’s recently released Atom processor. Chances are you will be able to choose from Linux or Windows XP operating systems, along with a choice between a standard hard drive and SSD storage. It would be a safe bet to settle for a price range that lies between $300 and $450. Do keep close tabs on further development this May or June.
