Toshiba’s IK-HD1 holds the record (for the time being) as the smallest HD camera head in the world, measuring a mere 1.6″ while tipping the scales at 2.3 ounces. Toshiba plans for the IK-HD1 to be used for scientific imaging and diagnostics, in addition to specialty broadcasting, homeland security, and industrial video and inspection applications. Being so small in size, it is the ideal equipment for broadcasting as well as various imaging tasks where space is a premium. Output stands at 1080i, where Toshiba’s HD 3CCD prism block technology helps deliver sharp, clear, true color imagery. Features include a C-mount lens flange, RS232C serial interface, multiple outputs for HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M), analog RGB, and Y/Pb/Pr.
