
Verizon will partner with Loopt to let customer track friends and family in real-time. The service also let people GPS-tag photos and notes. There are two important things to know:
1/ This works only with GPS phones
2/ Users can set things up so that only real “friends” can see where they are. However, I wonder what the default settings are going to be.
We expect GPS phones to be ubiquitous within a couple of years, thanks to chip size reduction. I always found it funny that carried have not been able to pull off something like this without requiring external help.
