Check out the BlackBerry KickStart Flip Experience that seems to be pretty promising. It does seem to retain the entire BlackBerry experience on the KickStart, where phone calls are made and received just like any other flip, while flipping the KickStart open for messaging purposes will function in just the same way as pulling an existing BlackBerry Device model from its holster. The music player works just fine with the handset closed, which is always a plus point in my book. Word on the street has it that the BlackBerry KickStart will ship with OS version 5.0, although that remains to be confirmed from RIM themselves.
