iRex iLiad Book Edition Reader

iRex has rolled out its iLiad “Book Edition” reader which takes a few steps backward compared to the original reader, removing the WiFi connectivity. You will be able to distinguish it by its silver casing, while it will also experience a massive price drop of €150 to €499. Each purchase will come with half a century of snooze-fest (classic) novels, while its touch screen display is great for notetaking. Other features include :-

  • 8.1″ display
  • 400MHz Xscale processor
  • 128MB internal memory
  • CF/MMC memory card slot

It makes me wonder – why can’t we just slot in one of those WiFi SD card adapters and gain WiFi functionality as well? A full charge requires three hours and can last for 7,000 page turns. The iLiad “Book Edition” will hit retail stores this May 9th.
